At the age of about 21, Munshiram was married to Shivdevi, daughter of Rai Saligram of Jalandhar.Shivdevi received only primary education. But Munshiram decided to teach Shivdevi further. Within a few days, Shivdevi won Munshiram's heart by her devotion to service and Shivdevi also gave up Munshiram's habit of drinking.
