Called to Serve - Podcast autorstwa Called to Serve - Czwartki

Marion was granted a license to preach in 1987 and graduated from Acadia Divinity College in 1992. She went on to work with the Department of Education and later as an educator in Detroit. Marion shares the challenges she faced in pursuing ordination, including racism, and how God has enabled her to serve no matter where she’s placed. Stick around after Marion’s story to hear a short conversation I had with research assistant Taylore Anstey about her own work on this project and what she is currently doing in Athens, Greece. Called to Serve is a new podcast featuring the stories of women ordained by churches within the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada. Between 1950 and 2020, over one hundred women were ordained to ministry in Atlantic Baptist churches and around the world. Our project shares and preserves these women's experiences--the joys and challenges they faced, and the impact they've made through their ministries. Called to Serve is funded by a grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and is led by Rev. Dr. Melody Maxwell of Acadia Divinity College.
