In our text this week, we see Jesus teaching with great boldness in the temple. The Jews marvel at the mastery of Jesus of the Word of God, but there is also increasing opposition by the Jewish leadership and crowd. Jesus is aware of all of these strains and responds with the heavenly authority that God has given Him as the One whom God has sent. Jesus suffers misunderstanding at the hand of the crowds and religious leaders, and we can expect similar opposition and misunderstanding as followers of Christ.
