Street Chats at SXSW 2024 (ENGLISH) | Episode 139

El Martínez - Podcast autorstwa Sebastián Arrechedera

In this episode, we decided to wander the streets and queues of South by Southwest 2024 to capture viewpoints from people with diverse backgrounds at what is undoubtedly the most fascinating festival for free thinkers in the world. It all started in an elevator, where I met Robert Gabbay, Chief Scientific and Medical Officer at the American Diabetes Association, PhD, and a Harvard Medical School graduate. Robert shared his belief that helping others is a fundamental part of life, pondered how the world would be a better place if everyone embraced this philosophy, and talked about his desire to be remembered for helping people.Heading out into the street, I chatted with Moody Al-Badrawi, CEO of Spare Music, about the impact of social media on the careers of independent musicians and the importance of digital distribution. Moody shares his vision for the future of music and highlights some emerging talents in Afrobeats and lo-fi.Then, in the line for the AI Happy Hour, I met Gavin Morrison, Director of Entertainment at Web Summit, a festival similar to SXSW that takes place in Lisbon and Rio de Janeiro. He told me about the festival and the importance of technology for emerging countries, and how in less developed countries ideas make the difference in changing old problems.Inside that Happy Hour, I encountered Kyle, CEO of the Skybox AI app, who is working with Apple Arcade Labs of Apple Vision on creating immersive content and visual storytelling. Diana Bailey, who also collaborates with Kyle at the company, spoke about the impact of visual immersion on mental health. Then, an enigmatic New Yorker from Pfizer, focused on data and reporting for Salesforce, shared his insights. And finally, the conversation took an unexpected turn when emoji designer Avi Stein told us about how he decided to create a religion based on intuition and gut health.En este episodio, salimos a recorrer el festival South by Southwest 2024 para conocer diversos puntos de vista, es el festival más interesante de libres pensadores del mundo.
