4 Scenarios With A Future Beyond Economic Growth With Mikael Malméus

In this episode of the Evolution Show Johan talks to Mikael Malméus, one of the 17 researchers behind an unique Swedish report: Beyond GDP Growth- Scenarios for a sustainable society. 

The report looks at four different scenarios beyond economic growth for Sweden 2050: 

Collaborative economy

Local self-sufficiency

Automation for quality of life

Circular economy in the welfare state

The report is a result of 5 years work including researcher from many different diciplines and experts from Swedish authorities like the Swedish Defense Research Agency (FOI), Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), The Royal Acadamy of Science (KTH) Stockholm, Transtion Sweden and several more. 

We touch upon many aspects of issues related to economic growth like the problem with the GDP measure, why we need to adapt to the fact that we live on a planet with finite resources and how we become happier and build more resilient societies without economic growth by changing our vision and think outside the box.
