There is great disparity between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, in many different areas. The Indigenous Literacy Foundation or ILF is trying to repair the disparity in levels of reading and writing. In the very remote Northern Territory only 35% of Indigenous children in year 5 meet the minimum standards for reading and writing.
