We all deal with self-doubt, or the imposter syndrome. You know the feeling — why would anyone listen to me? Often when I’m talking with coaching clients or friends that are starting in business, this comes up, and I deal with it myself.

People always think I’m so confident and these questions don’t’ go through my mind. But believe me, oh my goodness, I can’t tell you enough how often I think these same things over and over again. Every time I achieve something, another amazing opportunity comes my way but I get nervous about what will people think.

So, today we’re going to be talking about getting out of your comfort zone to push the imposter syndrome aside.

Some highlights include:

My first business ever was starting a dance studio, and I was incredibly nervous about what people would say, especially because I had only been a dancer for three years when I started to teach it. I sucked it up, and now that business grosses over a million dollars a year. (minute 1:00)

I was also really nervous about writing my book. I was sure my friends and family would say“who is she to write a book?” In reality, they were really supportive, and now I’m an international bestseller. (minute 2:00)

“Am I really worth this?” The more you raise your rates, the better clientele you get to work with. So, as much as you think you aren’t worth the higher price — you are. (minute 3:00)

It is really important to understand the value of hiring experts, like coaches, copywriters, and designers. I used to think that I could never spend $500/month on a coach. I thought that I had too much to invest in, and I just couldn’t afford one. But what I realized — and thankfully at a young age — was I can’t afford not to have a coach. (minute 6:00)
