"The Fish Flies at Night": Gilmore Girls S1 E18 (The Third Lorelai)

Trix is in town, and she sure is a tricky one alright. No, not Bellatrix Lestrange--Trix (also known as Gran), though you may know her as the O.G. Lorelai Gilmore. Emily is in panic mode preparing for Richard's mother's unplanned visit from London and Rory will finally get to meet her elusive and enigmatic (dare we say egregiously awful?) great-grandmother. Paris and Tristan go on a date orchestrated by a well-intentioned Rory. Gran offers to fund Rory's tuition for Chilton, much to Emily's dismay. But when a scene at high tea has Gran tut-tutting her way back to London, Emily's true intentions for sabotaging Rory's trust fund are revealed, and Lorelai is now one black mini-skirt and half a million dollars short. Oh, and brace yourself: There's a year's worth of singing in this episode and we're sorry but also not sorry?
