Pastor Vlad continues the sermon series, "Seasons". In this message he unpacks the reality that no matter the changes of seasons in your life, God is the only constant thing. Notes: 1. God removes Moses. “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. Joshua 1:2 A. God changes seasons by removing people. Some people are like the scaffolding; they are not the house, but you cannot build the house without them. "Some people are like scaffolding; they have to be removed” TD Jakes B. When God removes someone, it’s time to MOVE. And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward Genesis 13:14 C. When best people leave, best days are still ahead of you. Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. John 16:7 When you no longer have someone to depend on because now others depend on you. D. God gives you a sign to leave Laban, so that He can change your life. Now Jacob heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, “Jacob has taken away all that was our father’s, and from what was our father’s he has acquired all this wealth.” And Jacob saw the countenance of Laban, and indeed it was not favorable toward him as before. Then the Lord said to Jacob, “Return to the land of your fathers and to your family, and I will be with you.” Genesis 31:1-3 2. God replaces manna. Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land; and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year. Joshua 5:12 A. God promised milk but provided manna. Manna was provision. Milk was promise. Living water John 4:10 - provision Rivers of living water John 7:38 - overflow I shall not lack Psalm 23:1 - provision My cup runs over Psalm 23:5 - overflow I came to give life and more abundant John 10:10 B. When provision stops, promise starts. And it happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land. Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” 1 Kings 17:7-9 God’s provision comes with God’s protection. God’s provision is not permanent. C. God didn’t remove manna without replacing it with something better. Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and twelve baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them. Luke 9:16-17
