Sometimes you've got to embrace something that's ever so slightly bent...Set in riot-torn, near-future Los Angeles, Hotel Artemis follows the Nurse (Jodie Foster), who runs a secret, members-only hospital for criminals.Released in the middle of the summer tent pole season of 2018, Hotel Artemis never really went anywhere...but as we always say around here, that's kind of what the streaming services are for.From writer/director Drew Pearce, with at the very least a very interesting B+ cast with Jodie Foster, Sterling K Brown, Dave Bautista, Jenny Slate and others is an underappreciated slice of weird that flashed so much greatness coming down the line for many involved.I sit down with film critic, podcast host and general man about town Norm Wilner to discuss this gem which fell through so many cracks and is on Netflix Canada as we speak.
