The city has so many stories that we just never know about...On this episode we get to talk a little bit about some Quebecois cinema (which we don't get to see much of on this side of Canada with Très belle journée(Very Nice Day).It tells the story of Jérémie, a bike courier who delivers anonymous packages and leads a marginal, solitary existence in downtown Montreal. When a new neighbour moves in, his life is turned upside-down and the fallout is drastic. In addition to being a unique and fascinating work, this film presents itself as a daring and successful creative exercise. It questions loneliness, the duality between personal identity and digital identity, as well as our ability to build meaningful relationships in the digital age.Emerging from the Telefilm Talent Fund and the very first Quebecois movie to be shot on a cell phone, this one is a marvel to see and a great example of the kind of films being made by our friends in Quebec. We had the unique pleasure of sitting down co-writer/director Patrice Laliberté and star Guillaume Laurin to talk about the origins of the film and so very much more...NOTE: The audio on their end for this wasn't perfect but we bumped it up the best we could.
