About about today’s guest host: Anna Obuhovskaya is based in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. She has 13 years of experience in wine marketing & sales. She worked in Luding, Nesco, Joia, Metro C&C in Russia. She was the best cavist in 2011 of Metro Cash and Carry Russia. Last year, she also participated in Vinitaly International Academy in Verona. Her current project includes holding seminars at the Saint-Petersburg Sommelier Association focusing on Italian wines as well as running an Italian wine tasting club of which she is the founder, she also works as freelance wine expert for Piermaggio wine importer. He is one of the 9 members of the current 4th generation, who run the family wine business. Tommasi Viticoltori is the historical wine company which headquarter is located in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico region in Verona but with own vineyeards in the other Veronese doc wine regions ( a total of 242 hectares under vines ). In 1997 Tommasi family started a journey of expansion in the best Italian wine territories; that today includes 7 wineries and a total of 780 Ha under vines: Casisano estate in Montalcino-Tucany for the production of the noble Brunello and Rosso wines. Poggio Al Tufo estate in Maremma Toscana, southern Tuscany. Masseria Surani estate in Manduria - Puglia for the production of Primitivo. Tenuta di Caseo estate in Oltrepo’ Pavese - Lombardy, land of Pinot Nero for Metodo Classico sparkling wines. Paternoster estate, the historic and high end producer from Basilicata, land of Aglianico del Vulture. In addition to these 5 estates, Tommasi has a work in progress project in Orvieto – Umbria ( to be launched in 2024 ) and the newest exciting acquisition on Etna – Sicily ( to be launched in 2023 ).
