In this episode, I'm chatting with women's health coach and entrepreneur Raquel Sedano about her struggles with weight & food and her experience in the Cognitive Eating Academy. Tune in to hear how things have changed for her! More about Raquel, from Raquel: I am Raquel and I spent the last decade studying health, sport science, functional nutrition and body training in order to help myself and other women to have a healthier and joyful life. I have always loved sports and movement but when I started University I stopped moving just for pleasure since my relationship with body and food changed. I started to control what I ate and my workouts (running, going to the gym, etc...) became just a way to burn calories. And I just wondered: how come we have to suffer so much for something that is so natural and necessary for humans? Why do people lose so easily the motivation to workout? I have always been a curious person, so I decided to thoroughly study the physiology of movement and how our brain works. If we want to stick to something our brain needs to find pleasure and an instant reward when doing an activity. This is when I realized that I wanted to move in ways that my body liked, having fun and pleasure as in my childhood. A couple of years ago, when I moved to the USA I signed up for a class of IntenSati, a revolutionary practice that combines movement with positive affirmations. During and after the class, I felt incredibly empowered. Moving my body with expansive movements, feeling the rhythm of the music, and chanting positive affirmations was just amazing. I was training my body and rewarding my brain. I immediately felt the need to share this practice with my clients and friends, so I became an IntenSati Certified Coach. From then on I've been enjoying and teaching other women to move in a fun, empowered and pleasant way so that they can finally love exercise and movement. --- Find Raquel and more about her work on the web at: www.raquelsedano.com or on Instagram at: @escuela_de_salud_femenina
