Part one selects our starting lineups of the greatest baseball movie characters of all time. Then we dive into a section on all our favorite baseball movie scenes before highlighting our favorite films. We did a two-part Basketball movies award show early on in our history, we’ve done horror film award shows called The Scaries, we cap off each one of our series from Pixar to the MCU to Tarantino (etc) with shows like this, and then we also do annual celebrations of each film year called The Mike, Mike, and Oscars, which our audience helps us write & judge. So as we miss our national pastime during this quarantine, we get back to one of OUR favorite pastimes with this, our Baseball Movie Awards Show. Part one is perhaps the most fun I’ve ever had researching a segment on our show as we choose our favorite movie characters on each position on & off the baseball diamond. We’ll make some declarations on the best movie umpire, GM, and groundskeeper positions. Then we ask each other to choose from a list of memorable characters to highlight our favorite coaches, pitchers, infielders, and outfielders in the early innings of this program. The middle innings are filled with some fun rundowns of our favorite baseball movie scenes. From the best & worst coaching pep talks to the most inspirational speech about the great game of baseball to our favorite winning streak montage to the worst instance of cheating, supernatural or otherwise - we choose all of the best scenes in baseball film history. Then we choose our favorite baseball kids film, the best romance, comedy, and fantasy movies, and we wrap things up with our favorite non-fiction and fictional baseball films.
