An honor graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology (BS) with an MBA from Pace University, she was the National Sales Manager at Vidal Sassoon Salons for Luminique, a custom blend line for 12 years. But when the salons business was sold in 2001, she acquired the makeup line and reorganised it as GIELLA custom blend cosmetics. Three years later, she was given the Innovator of the Year Award by the Independent Cosmetics Manufacturers and Distributors.
