Ultimately, Avatar: The Way of Water is a movie about the comforting lies James Cameron tells himself. The story is deeply anti-technology, while Cameron himself used the most modern and advanced technology to make this film. He seems unable or unwilling to tell this story with any nuance, and as a result the movie feels insultingly simplistic.If you manage to put all that aside, Avatar: The Way of Water is an immersive experience.
