Nick is joined by Racing Post Senior Writer Lee Mottershead to discuss the news stories of the day from around the world of horseracing. They lead with the reaction to more Sunday racing, as scheduled in the recently published fixture list for 2022. NARS boss George McGrath has responded angrily to this owing to the demands on staff, but trainer David Simcock offers his own rejoinder in conversation with Nick. Simcock is also the trainer of arguably this weekend's most significant horse: the nine year old Desert Encounter, who is looking to win his third Paterson International at Woodbine. As part of National Racehorse Week, Nick also talks to trainer Jo Foster, who is taking her string out into the community, while JA McGrath brings us some important political developments from Hong Kong.
