Edward Farrell, long-standing conservation architect and head of the Professional Practice programme at Lincoln University tackled some of the issues relating to the nature and value of conservation. Using examples of projects he has worked on, he explains the core concepts, like 'significance' and 'value', and provides some clues about dealing reasonably with local authorities.
