Six main causes of low self-esteem. Marketing: We see an average of 5000 ads. All tell us how we are not good enough. There is a lot of money in telling people they are not good enough. Negative people: Yes, could be your friends or family members or boss. If you are constantly getting negative feedback you will start to believe it. Social media: Looking at how cool other peoples life is ( it’s an illusion) is going to make you feel bad about yourself. No self-care: If you don’t take the time to eat right or take care of yourself. You are teaching your mind you aren’t worth it. Mistakes: Mistakes don’t decrease our self-esteem it’s how we relate to them. If you start to criticize yourself over little things you are going to have low-self esteem.  Negative self-talk: Related to the last one. How can you expect to feel good if you tell yourself you suck? It all comes down to somebody told you weren’t good enough. You believed that and now you repeat it over and over in your head. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It’s a loop and you need to cut it. Here is a simple 3 step method. Step 1: Turn off negative-content Now you know what causes low self-esteem so you need to cut it out. Minimize your social media time, don’t spend time around negative people. Don’t consume any negative content. Step 2: Three things method Once you have eliminated the cause, let’s repair the damage. Write down three things that you love about you. It could be how you said thank you to someone helping you. It could be how you are improving yourself by reading this. Anything, small or big that makes you feel good about your self to write it down. Step 3: Mirror method This one is going to be intimidating for some people. Go up to the mirror. Look in one of your eyes. Say I love you, repeat it over and over. It might be cringy at first but once you get into it you will see how better you feel about yourself.
