God’s servants hold up his light, but it is God that causes things to grow. 32:09 – The Saints are the temple of God. We are to build our lives with the best bricks of gold. 40:14 – Paul repackages ideas from the philosophers of his day to teach Christianity. We are heirs of God and have a stewardship to share the truth we know. 45:01 – The verse that reads “We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ” (1 Cor. 4.10) can be read as irony. Paul may have been invoking expressions of the cynics, like Diogenes who lived in Corinth in the 4th century BC. 51:52 – We should be cautious of relationships that may put us at spiritual risk. Church discipline is sometimes necessary. 55:55 – Paul criticizes the practice of taking disputes between fellow believers to secular courts for judgment and encourages them to resolve their differences within the church community.
