From Policing to Safeguarding and Welfare Lead - Kelly Fardon Kelly is a former Police Officer who has a background working on the domestic violence team and online paedophile unit. She's also a cancer survivor. In this interview, she explains how she'd been looking for a new role for about 2 years but lacked the courage and self belief to make the move. Despite some financial challenges, having recently moved home, Kelly made the decision to commit to making a change and joined the Blue Light Achievers programme I ran earlier this year. Soon after joining the programme, Kelly found a role she was interested in and we worked together through the application process and soon afterwards, she heard that she'd been successful in getting through to the next stage. We sat down again and talked through the interview process, but this wasn't any regular interview. Kelly had to attend a 'carousel' of activities and she talks us through the entire process. Kelly also tells us about 'that call' to tell her she'd been successful. Things can happen really quickly and you'll hear in this interview, exactly how long it was from seeing the role to the offer!
