From Policing to TV Documentaries In this episode, I had the absolute pleasure of catching up with an old colleague of mine, Ashley Turner. Alongside being a cop, Ash is actually a staggeringly talented professional close up magician. He was mid service, when, for a number of reasons, he decided to take a career break but after a year, got told that he had to come back or resign. Ash returned to the job but realised that it was no longer a good fit and applied for a role with Channel 4 Despatches, not for one moment, thinking he'd be successful. Ash talks us through the selection process, the moment he found out he'd been successful and the incredible programmes he's both produced and featured in since. He also explains why the TV industry could actually be a really good fit for some former cops, if you have certain personal attributes!
