It’s time for another #bookclub episode of the podcast, not least because you’ve been sharing with me, via DM and email, the books you’ve been enjoying lately. I’ve also had my nose, and ears, in some great reads and I’m sharing my five favourites with you.I selected books I’ve found informative, inspiring, entertaining and downright eye-opening and I’d love to hear your thoughts. In today’s #bookclub episode:Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss (@thefbinegotiator) and Tahl Raz. Keep hitting the same dead-ends in your lines of communication? This book could help and Chris’ insights in his time as a hostage negotiator are incredibly helpful.TMI: My Life in Scandal by Perez Hilton (@theperezhilton). Perez came on the podcast at the end of last year and it was in preparing for that conversation that I read this book. It’s a fascinating insight into what was going on as Perez, and his hugely popular website, charted a unique period in celebrity history. Open Book: A Memoir by Jessica Simpson (@jessicasimpson). I used to love a TV show on MTV called Diary. The tagline was ‘you think you know, but you have no idea’. This is my way of saying that I thought I had the measure of Jessica Simpson, but it turns out I didn’t have a clue. I listened to this on @audible and it’s a triumph, not least because of the way in which Jessica tells her story.Untamed: Stop Pleasing, Start Living by Glennon Doyle (@glennondoyle) Yep, @adele influenced me into buying this. One social media post and within seconds it’s on my @amazonkindle. Adele said ‘this books will shake your brain and make your soul scream’, but what do you think? How to Heal a Broken Heart by Rosie Green (@lifesrosie). Rosie charts her journey through heartbreak and the disintegration of everything she thought was certain and it’s raw, honest and not at all sugar-coated. In this book Rosie re-enters that pain in order to offer anyone else experiencing it a path out of it. Her honesty, candour and resilience shine through and it’s a must-read guide for anyone struggling with heartache, loss or rejection.
