Habit 10 | Will decluttering my wardrobe make me happier?

The Emma Guns Show - Podcast autorstwa Emma Gunavardhana

This #26habits, or a version of it, was something I didn’t feel brave, ready or inclined to do. I knew I wanted to get rid of everything in my wardrobe and start again, but the prospect of doing so was very easy to dismiss as ‘ridiculous’ and move away from quickly.  In the last year I’ve had a series of spontaneous clear outs, but have never had the guts to tackle my closet - until now...  I read Tessa Coates featureWhy Having Just 33 Items of Clothing Could Mean You Have More to WearonThe Pool and realised she’d given me the perfect stepping stone to my ultimate goal. The premise is to whittle down your wardrobe to just 33 items - the ones that don’t make the cut are kept out of site, donated or sold - and wear only these for three months.  Even I didn’t realise why I was shying away from a wardrobe cleanse, until I followed the first step in the 333 Challenge and put every single item of clothing I own on my bed… Mentioned in the show: Project 333 by Courtney Carver. https://bemorewithless.com/project-333/ Be More with Less https://www.amazon.co.uk/Simple-Ways-Be-More-Less-ebook/dp/B0056U9I52 Robin James’ video Always Look Good | Finding Your Style in 2018 has some absolutely vital points for creating and maintaining a wardrobe that suits you.  Marie Kondo: The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying: A Simple, effective way to banish clutter forever.  https://www.amazon.co.uk/Life-Changing-Magic-Tidying-effective-clutter/dp/0091955106 Suggestions for clothing donations: UK https://www.salvationarmy.org.uk/clothing-bank USA http://www.planetaid.org/get-involved/donate-clothes Australia https://www.redcross.org.au/support-us/red-cross-shops/donate-clothing-and-goods Europe https://www.refugeesupport.eu/help-us-by-donating-items/ *Disclaimer: landfill is full of unwanted clothes so if you decide to do this, or a version of it, please donate, sell or repurpose your old clothes.
