EP12: Pregnancy, Postpartum, and the Pelvic Floor, with Dr. Alicia Jeffrey-Thomas

The Mom Room - Podcast autorstwa Renee Reina & Podcast Nation

EP12. Renee and Alicia talk all things pregnancy, postpartum, and the pelvic floor. What do pelvic floor physiotherapists treat? What is the pelvic floor? What does it do? What happens to it during pregnancy and after childbirth? Are kegels the answer for everyone? This episode is a must listen for any woman! Dr. Alicia Jeffrey-Thomas is a licensed physical therapist with advanced training in pelvic health rehabilitation. She’s not one to shy away from taboo topics. From bladder problems to bowel movements to sex, Alicia is always game to talk through the dirty details to help patients figure out what’s going on “down there.” Pelvic floor problems can affect people of any age, and Alicia is passionately emphatic that it’s never too early or too late to talk about these issues and get back to living your best life. Alicia is originally from Florida and received both her doctorate degree in Physical Therapy and her undergraduate degree in Health Science from the University of Florida in Gainesville (Go Gators!). She moved to Massachusetts a year and a half ago and now works at Greater Boston Urology working alongside a team of urologists and a urogynecologist to provide comprehensive care. ______________________________________________________________________ To connect with Renee Reina, click HERE.
