Divorce or separation can feel like a taboo subject amongst Christians, with great feelings of guilt and shame when our marriages/relationships don’t work out. But the truth is that no relationship is perfect, every relationship takes work, and when marriages or long-term partnerships end, many churches want to support those affected - they just don’t always know how. So this content-packed episode with guest Erik Castenkiold, who leads Restored Lives, will help us all become more informed about divorce, marriage, relationships, and supporting those in them. Erik shares honestly about the impact of divorce on children and teenagers, how we can navigate them through tricky times in our relationships, but also the hope and encouragement of how we can point our kids to Jesus, even in dark times. Erik has personal experience of divorce, and is now happily married with three young adult children, based in London. He worships at Holy Trinity Brompton where he is on the PCC. Erik is a Chartered Accountant by profession, having worked for several big-name companies including Deloitte, but has also been running Restored Lives since 2021, a charity that has helped thousands of people find hope after divorce.
