Self-care is a significant topic at the workplace. It’s equally important for the employee and the employer. Lacking self-care can translate into a variety of problems including diminished performance, health issues, and relationship problems. While employers are encouraged to actively invest in, pursue, and promote the well-being of their employees, individuals have a responsibility to take care of the Self. The multi-faceted nature of self-care can be categorized into aspects of biological, psychological, social, and spiritual care. Equally important in their own right, these aspects come together to form a comprehensive whole. A careful examination of individual circumstances and ongoing self-reflection are called for in the case of practicing proper self-care.
