IMF downgrades global growth forecast

The IMF says the risk of a global recession is rising. Its managing director, Kristalina Georgieva, said the outlook was getting darker because of Russia's attack on Ukraine and the shocks caused by the Covid pandemic. She said the IMF would lower its growth forecast as a result. We speak to Ali Metwally, an economist with InfoSpectrum, which works with shipping, commodities and energy organisations around the world. Farmers are under pressure because of the rising cost of fertiliser. Prices have gone up since Russia invaded Ukraine, but in Peru farmers have come up with a solution - using bird droppings, or guano.
