The EU president has unveiled plans to hit Russia with fresh sanctions worth nearly 12 billion dollars. This comes ahead of the first anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion on February 24th. The EU has also formed a working group to explore whether frozen Russian assets could be used to help rebuild Ukraine. If approved, the latest sanctions will restrict technology exports and affect more Russian banks. We report on riots in Nigeria as unrest mounts over cash shortages. Meanwhile, the deadline for initial offers for Manchester United is this coming Friday. The current owners the Glazier family are rumoured to be expecting upwards of six billion dollars.
