The US consumer price index rose at a rate of 6.4% - a slight fall on the previous month. While the drop is welcome news it was smaller than some economists had anticipated. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) measures the prices of a range of goods and service, and has now fallen for seven consecutive months in the US, from a high of more than 9% last year. We also report on big job losses in Europe which were announced by car makers Ford. The company will be axing nearly 4000 jobs across Europe in the coming two years. Most of the jobs cuts are in the product development division - that is designers, engineers and testers. And on Valentine's Day - why flowers on sale in the Netherlands might not have been grown on home soil....
