307: Talking Pots and Pans and Creating Evergreen Content With Jed Grieve From Cook Culture This week we are joined by Jed Grieve from the Cook Culture YouTube channel. We talk about his success through the pandemic, how he grows his community, makes great money from his channel, and it seeing such great success so fast on YouTube as a business. About Jed: I am a techy turned real estate agent almost 25 years ago, and I owe much of my sales and income to I grew up in traditional brick-and-mortar retail, working with my mother and starting my own business in 2010. I focus on high-end kitchenware and developed a niche for conventional uncoated cookware, like stainless steel, cast iron and carbon steel cookware. The reason that people buy coated cookware is a lack of knowledge and for convenience. It’s impossible to make conventional cookware more convenient than non-stick coated cookware but it does cook better so we focus on quality and education. We had spent years educating in our stores but as COVID set in I doubled down on our video content. I quickly learned that YouTube was the best marketing vehicle available to me and built 10K followers within a year, focusing heavily on our existing 30K email subscribers who I email 2 to 3x per week.
